Artist Bio
Megan Spillars is a Raleigh, North Carolina-based oil and mixed media painter whose impressionistic works capture the serene beauty of nature and the quiet moments of everyday life. Drawing inspiration from changing skies, atmospheric light, and the innocence of childhood, her paintings invite viewers to pause and find peace.
Her artistic journey has evolved through years of study and experimentation in plein air and in her home studio. Megan lives in Raleigh with her husband and three children, and finds daily inspiration in the simple, ordinary moments that life offers.
“My paintings are deeply shaped by the movement of light across the landscape. I study how shadows stretch, how reflections shift, and how colors transform at different times of day. Light has always been my guide…it tells me where to add texture, when to soften a brushstroke, and how to bring atmosphere and emotion on to the canvas.”
