Megan Spillars is a Raleigh, North Carolina-based oil painter whose work captures the calm of nature and the quiet beauty of everyday life. Inspired by changing skies and atmospheric light, her paintings are an invitation to pause and notice the beauty in the landscapes and ordinary moments around us.

Megan began painting as a child, and her style has evolved through years of practice, plein air painting, and ocassional study with professional artists. She lives in Raleigh with her husband and three children and finds inspiration in the Carolina landscapes surrounding her home. Her work is also influenced by her aunt, a beloved artist whose creativity and life continue to inspire her.

Beyond her own studio practice, Megan loves sharing what she has learned with other artists through weekend workshops and retreats.

“My paintings are deeply shaped by the movement of light. I love studying how shadows stretch, reflections shift, and colors transform throughout the day. Light is almost always my guide—showing me where to add texture, where to soften an edge, and how to bring atmosphere and emotion to the canvas.”
