About
Megan Spillars is a Raleigh, North Carolina-based oil painter whose work capture the calm of nature and the quiet moments of everyday life. Drawing inspiration from changing skies, atmospheric light, and the innocence of childhood, her paintings are an invitation to pause and find peace in a rapidly changing world.
Her artistic journey has evolved through studying under various mentors and painting small and consistently for most of her life. Megan lives in Raleigh with her husband and three children, and finds daily inspiration in the simple, ordinary moments that life offers. Outside of painting, Megan works in HR/Recruiting where she loves helping others finds work and encouraging growth in all aspects of life.
“My paintings are deeply shaped by the movement of light across the landscape. I study how shadows stretch, how reflections shift, and how colors transform at different times of day. Light is my guide…it tells me where to add texture, when to soften a brushstroke, and how to bring atmosphere and emotion on to the canvas.”
